Mad Men Challenge!!!

Last year I was eight months pregnant and too late to be apart of Julia Bobbin's Mad Men Challenge by the time I had heard of it. I LOVE the clothes on Mad Men (I don't like the actual show though. Shhh!!! The same can be said of "Marie Antoinette" but that is for another post!). So even though I am pretty darn busy right now trying to sell my home and sleep train my baby, I have to do this. At least I am going to try.

I love this dress but unfortunately Barbie was the only model I could find right now.

I was going to try to make the dress out of a silky emerald like the original but then I found this fabric on sale and fell in love. The pattern is a "Made by Gertie" that I am going to tweak a bit to make it a little more modest.

 Wish me luck!

Baby Shower Gift

I made a spiffy hospital gown for my friend's baby shower because sometimes it's nice to wear something at the hospital that hundreds of others haven't worn! I slammed through this pattern and made it in 2 1/2 hours during my baby's nap time! It definitely isn't perfect but, I tried! I think it is a pretty color and it has nifty pockets and snaps.

This friend was so kind to me last year around this time and took maternity pictures of my older two girls and I! I'll never forget her generosity. So as soon as I heard that she's having a girl I've been saving up some cute outfits that I've found on sale.

It felt good to sew! I haven't in so long in between getting sick, de-cluttering the house, potty training, teething, and putting our house up for sale! I feel the gray hairs coming in as I type!
