Maroon Dress Refashion

I bought a dress for 11 pennies a couple of months ago. I thought the dress had potential.

I love how it turned out! I made it into a peplum shirt. I added a little bow that I took from another sweater that had started to fray.

Yeah! Not all my refashions turn out but I think this one did!

Sassy Librarian Blouse

I bought the "Sassy Librarian Blouse" class on Craftsy a while back and I finally finished one!

Even with its flaws, it is by far the best thing I have ever sewn, quality wise!

The teacher, Christine Haynes (I believe that is her name) is awesome! There are so many little tricks to sewing and she knows a lot of them! Also, random, I think her voice is very sweet and soothing. It's a good trait for a teacher to have!

This is the best sleeve I have ever completed! I am so pumped to know how to do this better! Thank you Christine!

The "Ella" Cinderella Dress

We thought the latest "Cinderella" movie was pretty cute! I've seen costumes from the movie at stores and I knew I had to try to make one for my little girls.

I used the same simplicity pattern I used to make the Anna Coronation dress and then I added the sash and butterflies to the top.

The Original Dress that inspired me

I love this color! I love how the glittery sheer fabric looks too.

The dresses at the store were $30 and although they looked cute, this dress cost $20 to make and it is much more solid and princess like, in my opinion.

I put a floral lining inside the dress because I had this cute fabric and I thought it went along with the whole feel of the dress.

I'm happy with how it all turned out!

Mad Men Joan Dress

Here's a side by side comparison with the original:

I have been wanting to make a copy of this Mad Men dress for years!!! I was first inspired by Julia Bobbin, who did a great remake of this dress.

I used the "Wiggle Dress" pattern from Gertie's New Book for Better Sewing. I had to do some adjustments to the neckline because it was a bit too wide for me.

My hubby liked it so it's a win!

Update:

I am so flattered and surprised to have my dress be apart of the top twenty garments for the "Dress Up Party" challenge on sewsweetness.com. If you would vote for me I would be so grateful! If you already have, thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I did something odd....I took apart the whole dress, took two inches out, and sewed it all up again, because I had to! Here are some pictures:

Sitting down makes the dress a bit tiiiight but the fit is better!
Wish me luck!

Red Pencil Skirt

I finally finished this skirt, I think. It is the pencil skirt from Gertie's New Book For Better Sewing.

The fabric was from a friend who was clearing out her fabric stash! It's a beautiful corduroy! I kind of can't believe she wanted to get rid of it! Anyways, thank you friend! I really appreciate it!

Wedding Dresses

I finished the dresses! It took me 5 1/2 hours to make each one for some reason! The scallop probably didn't help, but I do love the look of them.

Happy wedding Bub!
(yes, my sister is called Bub)
